Hey glad you are enjoying motorcycling! some pretty good miles getting racked up there, keep them coming :)
Glad to see you are keeping your options open there. One thing is for sure that no matter what bike you go for, they will feel more “complete” than the CBF125, they will not only be quicker but the brakes would be better, more comfortable and you could do a lot more mileage on them…
The xj6 has a sweet engine, so smooth and quiet, I have ridden Ross’ one a few times and it is a great motorcycle, especially for someone who has just come off a 125. Power delivery is nice and smooth but to keep it legal (at least in Northern Ireland) you would have to get every bike there mentioned to 33bhp, but do not let that put you off as they would still be good for 120mph… I mean good for national speed limit and nothing higher ;)
the Gladius would be much the same as an xj6, maybe have a bit more character, but it depends on what you are looking out of from a bike.
The Hornet 600 is probably the best all round 600 that you have mentioned, I would stay clear of the Duke and the MTO3. The MTO3 is just a spiced up XJ6 and the Duke would be for a more “advanced” rider, being a supermoto.
The bike I would chose would be the Ducati monster 696. But I am a Ducati man lol. yes it would give you problems and the build quality would not be as great as the Japanese motorcycles but there is more soul and passion with a Ducati that only Ducati owners can experience… trust me on that one :)
Just keep your options open, if you are commuting the Hornet would probably be your best bet, buy this motorcycle with your brain and then save up again and get another motorcycle with your heart!
Hope this helps!
Denton :)
oh yea, you could fit a top box to any motorcycle, when there’s a will there’s a way!
